Building a Dakar...
How we can help you
realise your dream Dakar.
We can help realise your dream in owning a Dakar by not just providing the Dakar kits, but building it for you as well. We have broken down the conversion process into several stages as the following pictures will show. Each stage is individually priced allowing you to choose to have your kit assembled to whatever level you wish, be that just a strip down of your donor up to a full build with your chosen accessories fitted. These separate stages allow you to spread the cost of your kit purchase and build over several months.
The first
stage is for us to strip down your donor vehicle to the rolling chassis stage.
All the donor bodywork is removed, that is, the interior, doors, tailgates,
outer & inner wings, roof, body frame and rear floor, leaving the bulkhead and
front floor panel in place. The chassis is jet washed and the rear over hang cut
off to the correct dimensions. At this point the vehicle is not running as the
Dakar cooling and fuel systems are not fitted.
Building
on from Stage 1, the Dakar side frames are fitted to the Donors out riggers and
the one piece roll cage lifted into place and aligned. Side panels are fitted
and the body shell secured into position. The Bonnet is trimmed and fitted and
the windscreen wiper assembly modified to the Dakar's requirements.
Using
stage 2 as starting point the vehicle is made fully road legal. We fit the rear
floor, inner wheel arches and fuel tank. The radiator is re-fitted and plumbed
in, along with it's header tank. All other under bonnet components are fitted,
including the screen wash & jets, power steering fluid reservoir, and all other
ancillaries depending on the donor vehicles specifications. The interior that
was removed in Stage 1 is cleaned and re-fitted, that is seats, dash trim and
floor coverings. The body shell is drilled and the auxiliary lighting units
wired into place. Both your front and rear nudge bars are now fitted and the
head/spot lights fitted, and correctly lined up. Lastly, your choice of wheels
and tyres are fitted and the vehicle MOT'd if required.
The fourth
and final stage is the fitment of your accessories to make the Dakar complete. This
includes the doors and their supporting panels, the roof (be that hard or soft
top), bonnet scoop, Stereo systems, radiator grille, side steps, livery, even
the fuel tank is filled ready for you to collect, drive off and enjoy
