Dakar Designs relocates to Loughborough

We've recently expanded and relocated our workshop premises from Melton Mowbray to Loughborough where we benefit from larger and better facilities that allow us plenty of room for future expansion. The latest development work we are undertaking is the development of the Dakar kit to accommodate the Discovery II donor vehicles that are now increasingly becoming affordable donors.

Our new Dakar 4x4 embossed side steps

 These new side steps are available in black as standard, or colour coded to match your Dakar body shell. They fit over our new steel re-enforced side bars and not only provide easier access to the vehicle but keep away the mud and water thrown up from the wheels.
 

2006 Newark Kit Car Show

 If you made it over to the Newark showground on the weekend of June 17th & 18th you may have seen us just inside the main hall with our two Dakar's. We had a great time, the weather was superb and as always with the Newark show, the show atmosphere was great. Land Rover Discovery based Dakar.
 Finished in perfect time for the Stoneleigh Kit Car show this coming May bank Holiday is our latest 300 Tdi Discovery based Dakar 4x4 kit. If you've followed the build in our portfolio you'll know it hosts many new developments, including an all new bonnet design, new wheel arches and a 2" raised bodyshell to better suit the dash layout of the 300Tdi donor. It is said a picture says a thousand words, however this picture does not do the new vehicle justice, so please feel welcome to come and see the New Discovery Dakar at the 2006 Stoneleigh kit-car show and judge for yourself!
 

Latest Developments for 2006.
 As part of our continuing efforts to develop and enhance the Dakar we have updated some body panels. New for 2006 is an updated angular bonnet that we think better suits the Dakar as it mirrors the contours of the Dakar's body shell. The new bonnet still supports the bonnet air scoop that we know you love and our strut brace has also been changed to match the bonnets contours. All orders from Feb 2006 will be supplied with this new style bonnet as standard.

 Following customer feedback we've also updated the front section of our two piece hard top kit. The new front section has had it's peak flattened out to better follow the contours of the roll cage & the doors silhouette. Both the roof section and the bonnet remain compatible with their original items and are available separately for anyone wanting to upgrade.

 We were very happy to see everyone at the Donington show and especially those who took the chance to come for a ride with us around the very tame, but fun, off road course.
