D197 EYW - Aristocrat XK140 kit car.
Last updated September 4th 2007.

If you've fully explored our website you'll have read it's not just Dakar or Hibak 4x4's that we have built. Previously we have assembled many Rotrax kits and even a Banham X99, as well as running a successful accident repair centre.

So in case you thought we didn't look very busy, here is one of our none Dakar 4x4 projects to follow. This kit is called an Aristocrat and it is a Jaguar XK140 replica, based rather unsurprisingly on another Jaguar for a donor.

As you can see from the pictures, the starting point for our build is a Jaguar XJ6 4.2 that we purchased locally and after driving home, proceeded to completely strip (the Jaguar that is, before you get any funny ideas).

Everything on the Jaguar was removed, refurbished and then stored ready for fitment to the Aristocrat.

Even the wiring loom.

The Aristocrat kit's space frame chassis is substantially changed with 2.5mm welded steel panels and bracing.

The additional steel panels shown here that we have welded to the standard chassis provide additional strength.

Once strengthened the chassis is Zinc sprayed.

And all parts test fitted prior to being stripped down and sent off for powder coating.

The powder coated chassis is then fully sealed with p/u seam sealer throughout.
